Study my life, the times gone past,
funny these years went so fast.
Many friends i've had, many lost.
The ones i've kept, ones i love,
stand by me, they know it's rough.
Come hold me close, hold me tight,
dry your eyes, it'll be alright.
See times so short it's nearly gone,
about all you can do is carry on.
Live your life to please yourself,
no other goal is right.
Those who condemn can go to hell,
they don't live your life.
It may seem you can't go on,
take it all in stride,
never lose your pride.
Know that you're loved for being you,
and that we're here to help you through.
That's part of what friendship is about,
just helpin' one another out.
There are things you cannot lose,
but we all gotta pay our dues.
And though it all seems so damn hard,
you should remember who we are.
Don't forget, your friends are near,
and don't forget why we're still here.

ReplyDeleteI have been hurt by two friends this week, one I have had in my life since I was 9 (42yrs) and one of 3yrs. They have become very selfish, I am told by others that they have always been like that, I have just opened my eyes and seen them for what they are...your words

A lovely poem. I think if wonderful that you love both nature and poety and are open enough in yourself to express the deeper side of yourself. Good for you. It is a rare gift, one that not all people have. Men in our culture, USA, have more often than not been brainwashed or conditioned to not express their more emotional and deeper selves. So you not only offer the world a gift in your beautiful heartfelt poems, but you offer the world a gift in being true to your TRUE nature, which as a human being is emotional, deep, insightful, ever growing and expanding. I am proud of you. Thank you for making the world a better place. Never doubt the power of your contribution.

ReplyDeleteReally, all this words have very huge sense for a lot of people all over the world. Because meaning of word friendship have equal value U.S. and UK, in Germany and Greece, Ukraine and Russia... etc.
