Gratitude

As i look across

the years gone by,

i count my wondrous

blessings by the score,

and wonder if i could

have helped out more,

doing as much for God

as he has done for me.

My heart is filled with

passing memories,

as i remember the joys

and sorrows of yesterday,

and wonder, if with God's help,

i can make sunshine come

to our lives again.

To my loved ones

and friends as well,

that all their thoughts

of God be all embracing,

like the summer

winds and rain,

and each moonlight

will light the way back to

their hearts again.

Though the steps i

take from here,

may be a bit slower

than in years gone by,

i pray i will see a

great deal more

of the good things

for all of us.

I certainly hope

we all have more

gratitude for all

God has done for us.

Please Give Us Courage

Oh Lord,

give us strength

this day to

do the work

thou has assigned

us in this life,

and the courage

to see it through.

Please let us

be glad it is ours

alone to do.

It is whenever a

task is mighty hard,

and the outcome

is deepest in doubt,

that the richest

joys of faith,

answers all

our prayers.

Without which life

would not be

worth living.

Please, oh God,

give us strength

ourselves,

to work it out.

Glorious Days Of Youth

Those were the springtime

years of learning,

there, in the old

hollow by the creek.

You watched each spring

by her new blooms,

and the summer send her

sun warmed support.

Autumn colored the hillsides,

the glorious hues of fall.

You watched the lazy

leaves as they fell,

on the fantasy land

of youthful dreams.

The willows along the creek

became your castle halls,

the tall green grass

your ponies small,

the weeds your weapons tall.

The flowers were

your growing children,

the buds grew,

their petals opened full.

Some were weak,

and soon fell.

The strong ones survived

the summers blistering heat.

You welcomed all

natures children,

as you dreamed

your youthful halls.

You ate the delicious berries,

and chock cherries,

and drank of the cold,

invigorating spring water.

You even sang with the wind,

vowing someday to return

to your youthful dream world.

Yet, somehow you forgot

and left your land of dreams,

hungry for adventure,

wanting to taste the richness

of the worldly feast.

Those worldly activities

have all been lean years,

hoping you are ready

to return to your dream castle

and willows along the creek.

The flowers are

still blooming there,

the wind is still singing

it's song of youth.

Motherhood

Motherhood is the

foundation of the world,

the happiness of the home,

the prosperity of the nation.

Without the eternal

sacredness of motherhood,

there would be no earth

as we know it today.

God's great gift to the

world is motherhood.

To be a successful mother

is the greatest gift of God.

Hallow it, and keep

it sacred always,

free from the sins

of the world.

Be sacred to every

trust God has

bestowed upon you,

that your days may be

long upon this earth.

Romance

I hope at last,

i have reached

the age of reason,

though i fear,

i am very much alone.

Once life was a

glorious syncopation,

it's now nothing but a

monotonous monotone.

I'm tired of passing lightly,

over the nightly,

brief sex appeal.

I now, want a love

to last forever,

true love, that lasts

through sick and well.

I'm building up a

brand new romance,

building it deep and strong.

For, without a solid foundation,

love wouldn't last at all.

I've learned from sad,

past mistakes, true love

should last for all eternity.

To some folks, eternity is

only for a week or more.

I fondly hope

my new romance,

will last forever, as it

has never done before.

Desert Loneliness

Above the fleecy clouds,

the ethereal, translucent moonbeams,

softly bathes the desert scene.

The abode of desert silence,

softly bathed by the

ghostly desert winds,

as it sifts the ever shifting sand,

across the draws, and ghostly

bluffs of fairy tinted clay.

Out on the wavy, shimmering horizon,

the evening sun has set,

in all the grandest, gorgeous colors,

that the human eye has ever met.

And still the gorgeous spotlight

of a moon has not failed

to glorify the drapes of night.

Nature's fairy painters

sees new beauty still unveiled,

at each deep wash and knoll, and bluff.

And, as though all that is not enough,

to more enhance the deathless

silence of this desert land,

the bats hollow zooming,

and the eerie coyotes howls,

puts the finishing touches

on this glorious desert scene.

Tonight And Always

Tonight let me hold

your hand my darling,

for the night is cold outside,

and bring you warmth

and comfort from our

own warm fireside.

While the wintry winds

are howling at our

frozen window pane,

let me hear you softly whisper

that you still love me,

as you cuddle in my

loving arms again.

As the heavy snow is falling,

in the darkness of the night,

let our thoughts be

filled with laughter,

and the shadows turn to light.

Let our dreams be

true and tender,

as they enter through life's door.

Let our hearts

remember our blessings,

that we should be

forever thankful for.

Please Give Us Our Dreams

Please, oh Lord,

give us our dreams,

what so ever they may be,

our childhood dreams

of grown up adulthood,

our old folks

dreams of youth.

Please, oh lord,

give us our visions,

regardless of the

pangs they bring,

our summer

dreams of autumn,

our winter

dreams of spring.

Please strengthen our trust

in lasting friendships,

and our faith

in deathless love.

Though our earthly strengths

and fortunes may fail us,

please, oh Lord,

let our earthly

dreams remain.

Hope

Hope springs eternal

in the human breast,

if it didn't, we wouldn't be

like all the rest

who have gone before.

Hope is like a tiny seed,

that has been carefully stored,

then planted in the

fertile soil of faith,

to await the springtime of life.

Forever and eternally,

hope keeps springing up,

something we may not

know or understand,

continually, ever new.

A man may know he is

going to die sometime,

yet, way ahead he

sees a ray of hope.

He still clings to

that last straw,

even gropes through

darkness if he has to,

until it dims his thoughts

and fills him with fright,

he still dreams that the

light of hope will fill the night.

Winds Of Time

The winds of time

have scoured

and aged everyone,

bleaching the bones

in the desert sun.

The half covered

wayside grave,

denotes the life

some pioneer gave,

to tame this

lawless desert plain.

Now, the dismal

lowing of cattle coming,

to the small

yucca shaded spring.

The rhythmic beats of

wild horse hoofs

drumming this hard

baked desert thing.

The desert agelessly

echoes all sounds from

it's sand and rocks.

Watching for the ghosts

of men and women,

who once were young,

and gloried in the beauty

of the desert's setting sun.
